Rarely visited by Americans because of the political instability, Venezuela has natural wonders that compensate for the absence of world class infrastructure especially since most of the time is spent in pristine environments in their natural state. Let us take you on an adventure in the Orinoco Delta where you meet indigenous tribes and learn to fish for Piranha. Explore by vehicle and curiara dugout canoes and you reach the land of Canaima replete with numerous waterfalls the most spectacular of which is Angel Falls, the Tallest Waterfall on the World, accessible only by an hour walk through the jungle. Enhance the wonder of seeing the falls close up by spending the night in a hammock at a camp situated in close proximity to the falls then return to the modern world and the playground of Margarita Island

Day 1: Depart USA
In the morning you will board a flight to Caracas arriving in the early afternoon. You will be met by our representative and taken on an orientation tour of the city before being delivered to your hotel which overlooks the water. The rest of the evening is at leisure
Day 2: Caracas to the Orinoco Delta
After an early breakfast you will be transferred back to the airport for a flight to Maturim. Upon arrival you will be transferred to the lodge which takes about three hours in a combination of vehicle and boat. The Orinoco Delta comprises 15,000 square miles of jungle and mangrove swamps sliced by hundreds of small rivers and channels. It is one of the most beautiful and rugged areas of the country with amazing flora and fauna, mainly birds and parrots but also river dolphins, otters, crocodiles, turtles, piranhas and more. The inhabitants of this area are mainly the Warao Indians experts in fishing and basket-making. The camp is built in one of the few firm areas of the swampy region. Day 3: Exploring the Guenamorena Region
Awaken to the sounds of the jungle and, after a hearty breakfast, begin your adventure as you travel through the remote Guenamorena Region of the Delta to the remote Jakara Camp. Here you board canoes navigating through small rivers that allow you to venture deep into the jungle. Here your Indian guide will locate an excellent location to begin your jungle trek. If you have not been in deep jungle before, this will be an unforgettable experience. The silence of the jungle is occasionally interrupted by the strange cries of exotic birds while the pungent smells blend into the blanket of humidity. There are dense galleries of crawling plants and giant trees competing for rations of scarce sun light under the lush jungle canopy. Upon completion of your walk return to camp for lunch followed by a visit to the Warao Indians to get a glimpse into their way of life. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 4: Piranha Fishing and the Journey to Puerto Ordaz
In the morning you will head into the delta for a fishing expedition. Bait your hooks with raw meat and fish for the infamous Piranhas before returning to the lodge for lunch. After lunch head off by boat and vehicle to Puerto Ordaz and the Posada where you will spend the night Breakfast and Lunch
Day 5: The Lost World of Canaima
Early in the morning you will transfer to the airport for your flight to Canaima where you will be met and escorted to Canaima Camp. Canaima is considered the land of the thousand waterfalls or “the lost world”. Surrounded by majestic tabletop mountains, the tepuis is one of the oldest geological formations in the world and this part of Venezuela is unique in its beauty. It is the place where one gets in close contact with unspoiled lush, tropical jungle vegetation. After lunch the adventure begins! You will cross the Canaima Lagoon and navigate your way through the waterfalls of Hacha, Golodrinas, Ucaima and Guadaima until you arrive at the opposite side of the lagoon Upon arrival at Ucaima Port you will walk to the entrance of Sapo Falls; here you will have the opportunity to pass behind the curtain of water for a spectacular view behind the falls. You will also have the chance to discover the Sapito Falls before boarding a curiara (an indigenous dugout canoe) across the lagoon to the campsite in Canaima. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 6: The Journey to Angel Falls
Very early in the morning you will be given breakfast boxes as you begin your journey to Angel Falls. At Port Ucaima you board a boat to navigate the Carrao River. Arriving at the savannah of Mayupa here you disembark and enjoy a 4WD ride through the Savannah avoiding the rapids on the river. On the other side you again board the boat to continue your journey passing Indian villages along the way. You leave the Carrao River and enter the Chrun River traveling for at least one hour until you reach the island of “Ratoncito” from which you will get your first glimpse of the falls. To get closer you will have a walk of about an hour but it will be rewarded by the spectacle of a close up view of the falls. To add to the wonder you will be spending the night in hammocks with the sound of the falls as background. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 7: From the Jungle to a Tropical Island
This morning you wake to the spectacular falls a few feet away from your overnight camp. You have breakfast as you enjoy the sight of Angel Falls before heading back to Canaima. In Canaima you will board a charter flight to Puerto Ordaz where you connect with a scheduled flight to Caracas connecting to a 35 minute flight to Margarita Island which is a Caribbean Island northeast of Caracas. You will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel which is located on the beach. Tonight take the opportunity to enjoy civilization and nightlife. Breakfast
Days 8 & 9: Days at Leisure
Margarita Island is known for the quality of its beaches, pleasant climate and laidback lifestyle. The island encompasses 150 miles of sea coast, two national parks and three nature reserves, several castles, fortresses, cathedrals and churches and beautiful beaches to meet every taste: quiet crystalline beaches where you can only hear the rolling of the waves; beaches like Playa El Aqua bordered by small restaurants and offering a variety of water sports; Playa El Yaque, the best beach for windsurfing; and many more. The island also offers a lively nightlife and duty-free shopping. Breakfast
Day 10: Return to USA
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport where you check in for your flight to Caracas to connect with your flight back to the USA Breakfast
